How to read quickly?

In this semester, we have to read novels. There are so many vocabularies to me in this book. I spend much time on checking voacabularies, so I read slowly. How can I improve my reading speed?

There are many new words.... or There is a lot of vocabulary....

vocabulary is an uncountable noun!

In Taiwan, a lot of people say vocabularies, which is wrong!
Unfortunately, some Taiwanese English teachers say/teach vocabularies. lol

Now to your question.....
You cannot improve your reading speed, unless you know the vocabulary. The best ways are to practice and to learn new words and a lot of reading will improve your speed. There's no skill applied to speed, if you do not know enough vocabulary.
